All human-derived material should be considered potentially infectious and should be handled with appropriate caution. Fixation of human cells with formalin or paraformaldehyde reduces the infectious potential of human specimens considerably, yet prudent precautions are still advised. Care should also be exercised when using biological stains as many are mutagenic, carcinogenic, and/or toxic. Acknowledgement of Flow Cytometric FacilityAny manuscript submitted for publication that contains flow cytometric data generated in our core facility should contain an acknowledgement of the services provided by the "Cell Image and Analysis Facilities and Services Core of the Environmental Health Sciences Center, Oregon State University, grant number P30 ES00210, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, National Institutes of Health."
